to regenerate a lost damaged part, if the part regrows so that the original function is restored..the more the complex an animal is the less regeneration it is capable of..
the human liver is one of the few glands in the body that has the ability to regenerate..so, don't worry to donor our liver to others..hehehe..

other example is from Claire Bennet in Heroes series..she can regrows her body into normal after cut off or slammed at high place..but, don't try this at home!! it's just a story and none of the scientists approved that human body can regenerate like her..hahaha..
